Makabanu Fitness offers an evidence-based twelve week program rooted in Lifestyle Medicine principles. You'll experience a holistic approach that rebuilds your health from the inside out—not through toxic gym culture or unrealistic expectations, but through sustainable movement, nervous system regulation, nutrition education, and community accountability.
Each week builds on the last. You'll learn breathing techniques, strength training, functional fitness, whole food nutrition frameworks, and stress management strategies. You'll have access to weekly video modules, a supportive private community, and meal guides tailored to your lifestyle.

Meet Leslie Mullen-Fields
Founder & Wellness Coach
Leslie Mullen-Fields is a health and wellness advocate with more than twenty years of experience helping individuals and groups improve their health through exercise, nutrition education, and sustainable lifestyle change. She believes in a holistic approach to wellness that supports the mind, body, and spirit while helping people build healthier lives and long-term well-being.
Leslie holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Divinity, bringing both leadership expertise and compassionate guidance to her work as a mentor, consultant, and wellness coach. She is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, an American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.
She has a special passion for supporting older adults in maintaining strength, mobility, balance, and independence. Leslie is currently recertifying in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention and has completed additional studies in diabetes prevention coaching, breathwork, heart-healthy cooking, cognitive wellness through exercise, and functional movement training.
Through Makabanu Fitness, Leslie's mission is to help individuals, families, and communities build generational health through education, movement, accountability, and healthier living practices.


Asantewaa Mullen
Culinary Wellness Director
Asantewaa Mullen brings a wealth of culinary expertise and a heartfelt passion for nourishing, whole food cooking to Makabanu Fitness. With a distinguished background in food and beverage management, she served as Food and Beverage Manager at Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, overseeing operations at two acclaimed New York City establishments — Nios Restaurant and Silverleaf Tavern at Seventy Park Avenue Hotel.
Her experience extends into healthcare nutrition, having served as Dietary Supervisor at Interfaith Medical Center for three years, where she was responsible for the nutritional needs of hospital patients and staff — a role that deepened her understanding of the powerful connection between food and healing.
As the founder of her own catering company for over five years, Asantewaa further refined her skills in menu development, culinary innovation, and creating exceptional dining experiences. Her personal commitment to healthier living inspired her to pursue extensive self-directed research in nutrition and whole food cooking.
Asantewaa is currently expanding her expertise through advanced studies in holistic culinary wellness, further strengthening her ability to guide Makabanu Fitness participants toward heart-healthy, plant-based eating that is both delicious and sustainable. Her mission is to show that nourishing your body does not have to be complicated — and that the kitchen can be one of the most powerful places for healing and transformation.
